Abstract:
The education system in Australia represents an exemplification of the anglo-saxon education pattern. The system has three levels: primary, secondary and tertiary. After having graduated 13 years of primary and secondary school one can attend the tertiary level. Australia’s tertiary education sector comprises higher education and vocational education and training (VET). The first schools in Australia were set up by private individuals and Church organisations. The first Australian university was University of Sydney, founded in 1850. A special attention is given to the quality of Australian Higher Education. In November 1992, the Government established the Committee for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, and in March 2000 the Agency for the Quality Assurance in Australian Higher Education was founded. In Australia, The Commercial Higher Education is well represented. There are many faculties and schools/colleges of commerce in Australia and their curricula are different.
